e2v people support charities to the tune of £50,000
As part of its on-going commitment to provide support to the local community, high performance technological company e2v has recently donated surplus laptops to charities and good causes in both Chelmsford and Lincoln. These laptops are the latest in a number of donations totalling over £50,000 made by the company and its employees to good causes through events and fundraising activities over the past year.
The Southend Hospital shop will use the laptop they received to improve efficiency of its services, and Lincoln Social Services will distribute laptops to young people leaving children’s homes and progressing into the community. One of e2v’s core charities, Little Havens Children’s Hospice, has also received laptops to be put to good use within their organisation.
The donated laptops are just one element of e2v’s contribution to charity over the last year. e2v employees raised £5100 through a range of activities including baking days, raffles, pumpkin and Easter egg competitions and football and bowling tournaments, raising money for e2v’s core charities including Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford and St Barnabus hospice in Lincoln.
e2v has also donated an additional £16,000 from the e2v foundation and in support of employees’ personal fundraising efforts, adding to the £30,000 plus they had already raised for charities and good causes around the world.
Andy Bennett, Chair of e2v’s Charity Committee said “Every year our people find strange and more energetic ways to raise money for charities that have touched their lives. e2v is always delighted to be able to back them up with a little extra support”.
