e2v delivers 10 Millionth ASIC to Itron
e2v has announced that it has delivered the 10 millionth custom RF Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) to Itron for use with their automatic meter reading systems.
e2v is a leading developer and manufacturer of high-technology electronic components and subsystems in the medical and science, aerospace and defence, and commercial and industrial markets. Itron is the leading provider of advanced metering technology to the global utility industry.
The ASIC solution developed by e2v for Itron is integrated into Itron’s electricity meters for use with their automatic meter reading systems. Use of this ASIC provides a cost effective means for superior performance in term of RF reading range and reliability.
e2v”s Mixed Signal ASICs (MSA) Business Unit specialises in providing customised solutions for sensor acquisition and radio frequency (RF) communications, and offers customers both reliable and secure long term availability from medium to high volume markets.

Electronic tubes provide the enabling technology behind radars, electronic countermeasures (ECM), electronic warfare and satellite communications.
- Commercial & Industrial: Sensor technology includes marine radars, industrial safety sensors, automotive radars and alarms, thermal imaging cameras used by fire fighters, CCD and CMOS high resolution line scan cameras for industrial inspection. Electronic tubes provide enabling technology behind TV broadcast, satellite communications, marine radar and food & industrial processing.
