e2v imaging sensors capture first ever Stereo images of the entire Sun

For 4 years, e2v designed and manufactured imaging sensors have captured images of the Sun (see previous article) from two separate spacecraft, enabling NASA’s Stereo mission to produce an evolving 3D picture of the star which has an enormous impact on our lives.

On Sunday, 9th February, NASA revealed the first ever pictures of the entire sun. The British contribution to this mission also includes electronics from our partners at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Didcot.
